I didn't plan to end up doing both design and development. It kind of happened because I couldn't stop at one.
I started with a Computer Applications degree in Ahmedabad, where I spent three years learning how software is built. Then I moved to Canada - a big decision, a fresh start and enrolled at Humber to study Web Development, because I wanted to go deeper on the technical side. While I was there, I got my first real taste of working alongside designers, and something clicked. I realised the most interesting work happened at the seam between design and code - where the Figma file meets the React component, where the user flow becomes a real page someone actually uses.
So I went back to Humber and did the UX Design diploma too. Two diplomas in two years, a 90% GPA in each. Not because I was trying to collect credentials, but because I genuinely wanted to understand both sides of the problem.
Since then I've worked as a front-end developer, a UX design intern, and a web designer - sometimes at the same company, sometimes at the same time. I've been in the developer seat looking at a handoff spec and thinking "this is missing information." Now when I write handoff specs, I know what developers actually need.
That's the version of me that shows up to work every day - someone who thinks in systems, sweats the details, and actually builds what they design.
I'm currently based in Etobicoke, Toronto and I'm open to UX/UI design, web development or hybrid roles where both matter.
